Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to its APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the UFC Vegas 90 mixed martial arts (MMA) event TONIGHT (Sat., April 6, 2024), streaming LIVE on ESPN+. UFC Vegas 90 will be topped by the 185-pound rematch pitting the red-hot Brendan Allen against middleweight “Action Man” Chris Curtis, a five-round showdown with a spot in the division Top 10 hanging in the balance. Before that headlining clash of styles gets underway, rough-and-tumble featherweight warrior, Alex Hernandez, collides with 145-pound “Leech”, Damon Jackson, in UFC Vegas 90’s co-main event, scheduled for 15 minutes of slam-bang violence.

Round 2: Allen continuing to circle and potshot. Good exchange, heavy right hook lands for Curtis. Combination against the fence a minute in. Solid body kick by Allen. Allen pumps the jab, lands a right cross. They trade inside, Allen shoots, denied two minutes in. Straight left by Curtis, then a 1-2. Good exchange on the fence and Allen goes to work with elbows. Body work from Allen, low kick from Curtis. Heavy knee to the body backs Curtis off. Allen lands a left hook, then a right to the body. Round 3: Straight left by Curtis draws first blood to start the third. Allen cracks him with a right cross soon after. Not seeing nearly as much movement or kicks out of Allen a minute in. Good exchange, lead elbow and counter right by Allen. Low kick met by a right hook from Curtis. Allen looking for lead elbows. Brief clinch, knee from Allen. Two minutes in. Allen fires a combo and Curtis takes a finger in the eye. Allen fires body and low kicks when they resume. Curtis head kick just misses. Both land good right hands as they trade and it’s Allen that gets the worst of it, stumbling back after eating a right hook. A heavy right hand of his own sends Curtis reeling and he follows with a takedown before latching onto Curtis’ back with two minutes to go.

Round 4: Curtis continuing to pressure. Low kick exchange. Uppercut dings Allen, who walks into a right hook soon after. One minute in. This time it’s Allen who takes a finger in the eye. The ref incorrectly calls it a punch and tells them to continue. Sporadic boxing exchanges. Left hooks from Allen inside. Two minutes in. Low kick. Left hand exchange, hard hook and blast double by Allen. Again he takes the back in an instant. Curtis quickly sweeps into guard, then stands and separates. Two minutes to go.
2-3 from Curtis. Body shot, straight left, body shot. Check hook. Allen comes back with a nasty elbow that has Curtis complaining about a phantom poke. Head kick from Allen, check hook, jabs. Allen shoots again, can’t keep him down but stays attached with a minute to go. Knee upstairs. Slick move to pull Curtis to the mat and take the back, then mount him when Curtis tries to sweep. 10-9 Allen.
Round 5: Allen circling, tries a head kick and right hand. Combo from Curtis, who’s sitting down on some heaters. Body kick by Allen. Allen shoots, denied, re-shoots and eats a knee. Slick move to take the back a minute in. He switches to a leglock, nothing doing. Curtis attacks the body when they stand. Close-range shots upstairs. Strong sprawl from Curtis two minutes in. Trading inside. Head kick from Allen, right hand exchange. Again they trade right hands. Better shot from Allen, better sprawl from Curtis. Curtis attacking the body from the front headlock with two minutes to go.
Allen looking completely spent, briefly flops to his back before the ref waves him up. Both sit down on some huge punches before Allen hits a clutch takedown and takes the back. One minute to go. Curtis scrambles free, then lets Allen up. Allen immediately shoots again, can’t transition to the back. Out of nowhere, Curtis appears badly injured. Allen fires knees and kicks, but can’t finish him off before the bell. Curtis collapses after the bell. 10-9 Curtis; if prior fights are any indication we’re in for some interesting cards.

145 lbs.: Alexander Hernandez vs. Damon Jackson
Round 1: Early kicks from Hernandez. Body kick to right hand from Jackson a minute in. Nice leg kick. They trade punches in the center, after which Jackson lands another solid low kick. He catches a kick and transitions to the body lock. Two minutes in. Landing knees to the thigh. Hernandez separates and comes back swinging, landing a left hook in combination. Two minutes to go.
Jackson catches another body kick and tries to shoot. Knees to the thigh once again. One minute to go. He locks his hands and dumps Hernandez to the mat. Hernandez gets to his feet in the final seconds. 10-9 Jackson.
Round 2: Counter right lands for Jackson. Blitz falls short, body kick connects. Hernandez comes up short with a combination. Straight right catches Jackson leaning a minute in. Low kicks by Jackson landing to good effect. Hernandez has the crisper strikes by far but he just can’t seem to connect. Both land in an exchange and Jackson goes back to pressuring. There’s a solid right by Hernandez two minutes in, then a left hook to answer an overhand right. Lead right by Jackson, then a heavy leg kick soon after. Jackson tries to chase him along the fence and lands a body kick. Fast exchange in the center with two minutes to go.
Another solid low kick by Jackson, who checks one from Hernandez. Jackson doubles the right hand and changes levels for a successful double-leg. One minute to go. Hernandez works to his feet and Jackson latches onto his back, hunting the RNC. He settles for landing solid punches until the bell. 10-9 Jackson.
Round 3: Jackson gets lazy with his kicks and Hernandez drops him with a counter right, hammering with punches before chasing an arm triangle. Jackson scrambles to his feet a minute in, then fires a double-leg. Hernandez defends with an underhook and considers his own level change, only for Jackson to hit a slick transition and take his back in an instant. Both hooks in, dropping punches. Two minutes in. Hernandez trying to shake him off the top, does so. Jackson immediately shoots again. Two minutes to go.
Hernandez reverses against the fence. Jockeying for position. One minute to go. Ref wants more action as they trade position against the fence. They stay locked together until the last few seconds, then break to trade punches. 10-9 Hernandez.

145 lbs.: Morgan Charriere vs. Chepe Mariscal
Round 1: Charriere answers a low kick with some heavy punches, then latches onto a guillotine when Mariscal shoots. Mariscal scrambles free, still caught in the front headlock. Trying to throw elbows over his shoulder, scrambles into a takedown attempt a minute in. He hauls Charriere to the fence. Trading knees. Trying to run the pipe, no dice and they separate two minutes in. Overhand right from Mariscal, heavy uppercut by Charriere, left hook by Mariscal. Mariscal shoots again and puts him on the fence. Two minutes to go.
Elbows from Charriere as he defends. Mariscal lands a knee on the break, separates, throws hands, shoots again. Charriere reverses and puts him on the fence. Solid left hand by Mariscal before shooting again. Front headlock with a minute to go. Charriere grabs double underhooks and briefly takes him down before separating. Heavy left by Mariscal. Nice body kick from Charriere. Mariscal tries a head kick, eats a left hook, then does his best whirligig impressiona t the bell. 10-9 Mariscal.
Round 2: Good right hand from Charriere makes Mariscal lose his balance in the opening seconds. Body kick, then a clean counter right. Body kick and right hook by Mariscal in return and they exchange kicks. One minute in. Charriere catches him leaning with a head kick. Heavy inside low kick, Mariscal answers with a body kick. Charriere bangs the body, then goes upstairs. Low kicks by Mariscal, then a head kick two minutes in. Mariscal shoots under an overhand right and cracks him with a pair of rights on the way up. Heavy boxing exchanges, Mariscal getting the better of it. Hard three-piece from Charriere to retake the initiative. Two minutes to go.
Nasty body shot by Charriere. Stiff jab and they trade at point blank. Charriere stalking, lands a body kick. Good exchange but Charriere seems to be in control. Hard counter right. Low kick with a minute to go. Slick takedown puts him on top and he looks for the back. Mariscal makes it up, gets thrown back down before quickly getting to his feet. Charriere absorbs a front kick to the face and dumps him to the mat. 10-9 Charriere.
Round 3: Charriere stalking right off the bat. Mariscal’s landing some decent punches but to no effect. Low kick from Charriere, body kick a minute in. Mariscal suddenly puts together a gnarly combination, which Charriere absorbs before hitting a double-leg. Mariscal trying to turn it into his own takedown, surrenders half guard two minutes in. Trading punches. Mariscal gets to his feet and grabs the front headlock with two minutes to go.
Trading body shots inside. Mariscal ties up and Charriere tries to jump on a guillotine, then moves to the front headlock. Mariscal hits a takedown with a minute to go. Charriere trying to scramble from bottom half guard, absorbing punches as he does. Mariscal continues to land punches until the bell. 10-9 Mariscal.

155 lbs.: Ignacio Bahamondes vs. Christos Giagos
Round 1: Big swings from Giagos as Bahamondes tries to get his kicks going. Body kicks from Bahamondes, who answers an overhand right with uppercuts. Counter uppercut again. One minute in. Giagos shoots, denied, takes Bahamondes to the fence. Quick separation. Low kick exchange, four-piece by Bahamondes. Wheel kick to spinning back kick, then a counter right that puts Giagos on queer street. Bahamondes follows with an uppercut and chases him to the fence, hammering with punches. Two minutes to go. Giagos manages to survive and separate. Bahamondes cracks him with another right cross. Front kicks downstairs. Two hard rights land for Giagos. Two minutes to go.
Body kick again for Giagos, then a straight left as Giagos steps in. He lands some straight rights, switches southpaw, then absolutely blasts Giagos with a kick to the face. Giagos goes down in a heap and the ref waves it off before Bahamondes can follow up.

Round 1: Low kicks from Peek to start. Campbell answering in kind. Low kick catches Campbell throwing and briefly sends him to a knee. One minute in. Both continuing to land low kicks, Peek tries a flurry in the center. Heavy low kick from Campbell as Peek ties up. Body lock for Peek two minutes in. Campbell landing short punches but gets dragged to the mat. Heavy knees from Peek as Campbell stands and separates. Blitz from Peek, eats a knee trying to clinch. Two minutes to go.
Peek tries another blitz, settles for a low kick. Again he chases Campbell across the cage, but eats hard knees on the exit. Heavy right cross by Campbell. Peek is biting on every feint and Campbell’s taking advantage to land some clean shots. One minute to go. More kicks from Campbell, glancing overhand from Peek. Round 2: Peek swinging wild, trying to chase Campbell across the cage. He ties up as they exchange and gets the body lock. Knee from Campbell on the exit. Uppercut lands for him, then three low kicks in a row. They tie up a minute in, more knees from Campbell. Counter right and low kick. Peek’s standing southpaw due to the leg damage. Peek puts him on the fence and lands knees to the body. Two minutes in. Campbell separates, weathers a series of haymakers and standing hammerfists, then hits a blast double into guard. Looking for the back against the fence. Both hooks in with two minutes to go.
Peek trying to scramble, Campbell controlling well with a single hook. Peek slips out and Campbell cracks him with a hard right hand before separating. Peek comes out swinging for the fences and Campbell might be spent. One minute to go. Campbell fails a takedown but lands a series of monstrous right hands before Peek bullies him to the mat. Campbell stands,, landing knees in the clinch. Huge combo against the fence. 10-9 Campbell.
Round 3: Peek blitzes, gives up an easy takedown, quickly scrambles to his feet to put Campbell on the fence. Campbell reverses a minute in and lands knees, then shoots when Peek chases him on the exit. He somehow manages to complete the takedown despite Peek’s best efforts and looks for the back. Great scramble to avoid losing position. Body triangle two minutes in. Campbell considers an arm triangle, loses a hook when Peek gets to his knees. He quickly slips it back in and tries for the RNC with two minutes to go.
Peek explodes to his feet, Campbell still attached. Knees to the thigh from Campbell. Peek breaks free with just over a minute to go and both men throw from the hip before Campbell hits an easy takedown. Side control for Campbell. Peek regains half guard and tries to scramble, but gives up his back in the final seconds. Campbell tries for a last-second RNC. 10-9 Campbell.

Round 1: Body shot from McGee to start things off. Heavy overhand right from Morono, body shot from McGee in return. McGee consistently landing right hands to the midsection. One minute in. Both land body kicks. Lots of movement and feints from both men. Solid low kick from McGee, overhand from Morono two minutes in. Morono whiffs on a spinning back fist, eats another right cross downstairs. Nice lead right. They trade low kicks with two minutes to go.
Round 2: McGee shoots in the opening seconds and Morono jumps guard on a guillotine. McGee weathers it, pops his head out, and lands a solid elbow a minute in. Morono turns for an armbar, can’t get it, eats another hard elbow. McGee chipping away from guard. Two minutes in. Body blows from McGee. Two minutes to go.
Morono scrambles to his feet and separates. Low kick from McKee, straight right behind it. Body shot. Overhand right from Morono. Counter knee, heavy right hand behind it with a minute to go. McGee comes back with a cross counter, shoots, denied. Low kick exchange. They trade in the center. Morono whiffing on some wild swings, eats a stiff jab. 10-9 McGee.
Round 3: McGee changes levels, eats elbows for his trouble. Low kick. Brutal right cross from Morono, who walks into a jab after missing a spinning back fist a minute in. Neither man committing to much as they feint. Two minutes in. Overhand right lands for McGee as they trade. 1-2. Very little volume from either man. Solid lead right by McGee. Morono cracks him with a long right. Two minutes to go.
McGee shoots, denied. Spinning back kick and spinning back fist by Morono in sequence. McGee shoots, denied. One minute to go. McGee fakes a shot, avoids a spinning back fist. Morono whiffs on an overhand and eats a pair of crosses. Morono lands a long right hand, tries to open up, and gets taken down in the final seconds. 10-9 Morono? Gonna be some weird scores.

265 lbs.: Valter Walker vs. Lukasz Brzeski
Round 1: Early pressure from Brzeski, landing leg kicks. Counter left to answer a low kick from Walker. Walker wings an overhand right and hits a takedown a minute in, looking for the back as Brzeski gets to his knees. Landing short punches with Brzeski stuck at the base of the fence two minutes in. Continuing to control and chip away. Two minutes to go.
Brzeski trying to land punches and elbows as Walker lays on him. He gets to his feet as the ref asks for action, then separates. Teep from Walker with a minute to go. Low kick exchange. Power double from Walker puts him on top near the base of the fence. Brzeski looks for the switch, can’t find it, gets to a knee. Two minutes in. Brzeski gets to his feet and reverses, absorbing a knee on the exit. Good combo by Brzeski. They trade on the fence. Two minutes to go.

Walker hits another power double at the base of the fence. Looking for mount, landing punches. Brzeski tries to get to his feet and Walker takes his back, slipping in both hooks. Brzeski tries to bridge and Walker takes mount with two minutes to go.
Nice elbow by Walker. Playing heavy, not posturing. One minute to go. Hammerfists, elbows. Brzeski uses the fence to sweep into top position. He moves to side control, landing punches as Walker stands. Walker manages to escape and grab the body lock until the bell as Brzeski throws elbows. 10-9 Walker.

135 lbs.: Norma Dumont vs. Germaine de Randamie
Round 1: Dumont circling, de Randamie stalking. Heavy leg kick by de Randamie. One minute in. Dumont knocks de Randamie off-balance and lands on top in the scramble, avoiding a heel hook attempt to take half guard. Two minutes in. Pure control from Dumont so far. de Randamie regains guard. Two minutes to go.
Dumont throwing virtually nothing from the top but the ref doesn’t seem inclined to stand them up and de Randamie isn’t making much effort, either. One minute to go. Dumont postures up to drop a couple punches, then goes back to the lay-and-pray. de Randamie gets to her feet in the final seconds, gets taken right back down. 10-9 Dumont.
Round 2: Early combo from Dumont, then a level change. de Randamie fights it off but gets tied up after overcommitting to a right hand. de Randamie reverses against the fence. Jockeying for position a minute in. Trading knees. Solid punches by de Randamie as she controls against the fence. Two minutes in. de Randamie getting the better of these exchanges in the clinch. Knees to the body. Dumont reverses, eats a knee from the Thai clinch before separating with two minutes to go.
Hard head kick by de Randamie, Dumont laughs it off. Left hook from de Randamie. Dumont catches a body kick to take her down into guard. One minute to go. Short slam. Elbow. de Randamie trying to strike off her back. She spins for an armbar at the bell. 10-9 de Randamie.
Round 3: Solid boxing from de Randamie in the opening seconds but Dumont hits a quick blast double to put her on her butt at the base of the fence. de Randamie gets to her feet, dragged back down into side control a minute in. Dumont considers an RNC but doesn’t have the angle. Potential arm triangle setup. Two minutes in. Dumont seems content to threaten the arm triangle without committing to it. Literally nothing from the top by Dumont but de Randamie can’t escape. Two minutes to go.
de Randamie turns to her knees and Dumont takes her back, slipping in both hooks. One minute to go. de Randamie removes a hook and stands, gets tripped down into guard. Ede Randamie attacks from her back until the bell. 10-9 Dumont.

135 lbs.: Pedro Falcao vs. Victor Hugo
Round 1: Early level change from Falcao to put Hugo against the fence. Hugo defending well as Falcao tries a variety of finishes. One minute in. Nice trip by Falcao and he latches onto Hugo’s back as “Striker” tries to stand. Hugo manages to regain guard and quickly goes to mission control as Falcao whacks his body. Gogoplata attempt from Hugo, switches to an omoplata two minutes in. Falcao gets his arm out and shoots back in, firing knees. Hugo separates and Falcao gets back to stalking, landing a combo before shooting in with two minutes to go.
Hugo defends and again Falcao puts the pressure on, patiently advancing before changing levels to chase a single-leg. Hugo defends and separates with a minute to go. Hugo firing kicks as Falcao advances. Spinning back kick misses but he denies Falcao’s shot. Nice uppercut from Hugo. Now it’s Hugo pushing forward, but he boots Falcao in the nuts before he can build any momentum. They resume with a few seconds on the clock and Hugo tries to turn up the heat. 10-9 Hugo.
Round 2: Hugo throwing heat as Falcao pushes forward, landing a spinning back kick to the body before Falcao shoots again. Nice elbow as he defends, separation. He looks like the fresher man by a big margin as they trade punches a minute in. Nasty low kick from Hugo, punches from Falcao in return. Falcao pressures him to the fence and changes levels once again. Hugo defends and lands a heavy low kick two minutes in. Hugo landing a lot of good punches and kicks as Falcao pressures. Left hook to level change by Falcao but there’s just not much steam on his attempts anymore. Hugo defends and they trade punches on teh exit. Falcao avoids a spinning elbow, can’t secure the body lock, can’t get the takedown, either. They separate with two minutes to go.
Hugo sharpshooting off the back foot, denies another takedown attempt. Falcao avoids a wheel kick with a minute to go and unsuccessfully tries to shoot, allowing Hugo to get the body lock. They separate soon after. Falcao continues to wade forward, absorbs a heavy low kick. 10-9 Hugo.
Round 3: Hugo floors Falcao with a short left hook in the opening seconds, then waves him back to his feet. Heavy head kicks, snap kick downstairs. Falcao’s still game but the gas tank looks empty as Hugo puts him on the fence. No dice on the hip toss by Falcao but he does briefly reverse position. Hugo lands a spinning back kick that Falcao claims was low, but the ref tells them to continue and Hugo tees off with nasty punches before denying another level change. They separate two minutes in. 3-2 from Hugo, who avoids a single-leg. Nice elbow by Falcao to set up the next unsuccessful level change. Two minutes to go.
Hugo circling along the fence as Falcao advances. Solid combo by Falcao before tying up. They separate with a minute to go, Hugo landing kicks to keep Falcao at bay. Round 1: Argueta pressures him to the fence and hits a double-leg into half guard. Hitting mat returns as Matsumoto tries to stand a minute in. More mat returns by Argueta. Outside trip into mount, landing elbows. Two minutes in. Matsumoto gets an underhook and scrambles to his feet with the body lock. Knees to the thigh. First takedown attempt denied, second one lands. Argueta uses the fence to stand and they deadlock with two minutes to go.
Argueta sprawling hard as Matsumoto drives in. Matsumoto avoids a kimura and Argueta unsuccessfully tries to shoot. They briefly separate, after which Argueta lands a couple punches before shooting in again with a minute to go. Matsumoto stuck on his rear against the fence, but gets to his feet, absorbing a knee. Low kick from Matsumoto, overhand right by Argueta. Matsumoto lands a glancing head kick before shooting at the bell. Fun round. 10-9 Argueta.
Round 2: Argueta pops Matsumoto with a right hand before taking him down again. Matsumoto gets an underhook, stands, gets dumped right back down but manages to kick him off. Argueta immediately shoots in again, tripping him to a knee and holding the body lock. One minute in, looking for a hook. Matsumoto scrambles up and briefly considers a ninja choke, but Argueta ducks a left hand and takes him down again. Matsumoto again scrambles up and lands a knee before separating. Bad shot from Argueta forces him to bail two minutes in. Hard low kick by Matsumoto, then a heavy counter right and another low kick before Argueta shoots again and takes him down to his set. Low mount. Matsumoto gets an underhook and turns it into his own takedown with two minutes to go.
Matsumoto looks for the back, can’t get it, sprawls on Argueta’s next shot. Another good sprawl and they separate. Heavy right hand lands for him before Argueta shoots again. One minute to go. Matsumoto denies it and gets back to pressuring. Heavy leg kick, then a pair of clean counters. Argueta shoots in again. Strong sprawl by Matsumoto, who jumps on a tight guillotine that forces a tap with less than five seconds on the clock. Great fight.

185 lbs.: Dylan Budka vs. Cesar Almeida
Round 1: Budka circling and feinting early. Solid side kick, then a blast double that puts him on top. Almeida scoots to the fence, stuck on his rear as Budka holds the low mount a minute in. Almeida gets a whizzer and works to his feet two minutes in. Budka re-shoots, completing it and getting back to stalling position in low mount. Two minutes to go.
Almeida gets to his feet again and Budka continues to lean on him. One minute to go. More leaning from Budka. 10-9 Budka.
Round 2: Solid body shot from Almeida, Budka responds with a double-leg. Again Almeida scoots to the fence and stands and again Budka elects to lean on him. One minute in. Elbows and punches by Almeida as he defends. Knee to the body, then to the head. Almeida moves to the rear body lock and lands more strikes before separating. Heavy body shots. Almeida stalking a gassed Budka, slams home a body kick. Budka shoots again and puts him on teh fence, where Almeida hammers him with punches and elbows until he crumbles to his knees and sends the ref into action.
Final result: Almeida def. Budka by TKO (elbows and punches) — WATCH HIGHLIGHTS!
135 lbs.: Nora Cornolle vs. Melissa Mullins
Round 1: Stiff jab and right hand from Cornolle in the opening seconds. Mullins buzzes her with a jab in return. Counter right from Mullins to answer a low kick. More clean jabs from Cornolle, but Mullins hauls her to the fence. One minute in. Double underhooks for Mullins, strong whizzer by Cornolle to stay on her feet as Mullins tries to muscle her down. Two minutes in. Mullins finally manages to drag her to the mat, looking for side control. Cornolle regains half guard. Mullins trying to get space to posture with two minutes to go.
Nice sweep by Cornolle to land on top, then look for the back as Mullins scrambles up. They separate. Solid right by Mullins sets up another clinch. Fighting for underhooks with a minute to go. Knees by Cornolle. Mulline keeps her against the fence until the bell. Knees by Cornolle, elbows from Mullins. 10-9 Mullins? Weird round to score.
Round 2: Mullins ties up early, gets reversed against the fence. She reverses in turn. One minute in. More grinding. Two minutes in. Cornolle lands some knees downstairs. Head kick on the exit. Mullins looks gassed. Jab exchange. As Mullins tries to tie up, Cornolle drills her with a knee to the body that just about folds Mullins in half. Mullins runs for her life until a pair of head kicks send her to the mat.
Final result: Cornolle to Mullins by TKO (knee and head kicks)
