The scariest puncher in combat sports, Deontay Wilder, once again meets the Lineal Heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, TONIGHT (Sat., Feb. 22, 2020) inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the dynamic duo attempt to settle their score once and for all.

Both men are 2-0 since their last meeting, which saw Fury survive two knockdowns but ultimately settle for a split draw. Fury demolished unheralded German Tom Schwarz in his ESPN debut, then survived a gruesome cut (see it) to hand promising Swede Otto Wallin his first defeat soon after. Wilder took less than three minutes to dispatch mandatory challenger Dominic Breazeale before plunking rival Luis Ortiz with the 2019 “Knockout of the Year.

The pair reportedly already have a third meeting booked.

Elsewhere on the card, former IBF Heavyweight Champion Charles Martin faces Gerald Washington in a fight whose winner could become a challenger for Anthony Joshua. In addition, Emanuel Navarrete defends his Super Bantamweight title against fellow slugger Jeo Santisima and towering Super Welterweight prospect Sebastian Fundora looks to turn aside former Olympian Daniel Lewis.

Round one: Fury pressing the action early as Wilder flicks out his jab. 1-2 lands for Fury. 1-2 from Wilder in return, glancing shot. Next one’s blocked. 1-2 from Fury, nice flurry halfway through the round. Body jab. Double jab from Wilder. Fury lands a left hook and avoids a chopping swing. Stiff jab lands for him. 10-9 Fury.

Round two: Wilder lands a body jab. They tried glancing hooks. Good jab from Fury. Big right cross from Wilder soon after. Next 1-2 goes high, Fury clinches. Wilder body jab. Fury with a nice left hook, clinch. 1-2 from Wilder. Jab exchange. Fury fires a 1-2 into the clinch. Hard right by Wilder, eats some blows from Fury before the bell. 10-9 Wilder, 19-19.

Round three: Trading jabs in the early going. Hard series of jabs form Fury and a heavy right behind them. Clinch. Another right hand connects. Clinch. 3-2. Clinch. Wilder steps in deep with a 1-2, eats a pair of right hands in return. Fury double jab. Clinch. 1-2 lands, clinch. 3-2 and down goes Wilder! He’s up in time and looks lucid. Fury cracks him with another right and Wilder clinches, slipping as he does. Never mind, those legs are not there. 10-8, 29-27 Fury.

Round four: Fury on the advance, gets clinched. Ref warns both men for not breaking the clinch on his command. Clinch again. Fury reaches with a long right hand and Wilder slips. Good left hook to the body from Fury. Right hand downstairs, clinch. Wilder with a 1-2, out of range. Clinch. Halfway through. Fury wades into the clinch again. More clinching. Fury lands a right downstairs, leans on Wilder. 1-2 goes high, more leaning. Clubbing shots by Fury on the ropes. Wilder reaches with a long right. 10-9, 39-36 Fury.

Round five: 1-2 and Wilder’s rocked again. Fury tries to maul, gets clinched. Clinched again, nice uppercut and clubbing right by Fury. Fury 1-2, clubbing right, lean. Left hand to the body puts Wilder on his butt. Again he rises. Fury cracks him with a right cross, clinch halfway through the round. Wilder fires a 1-2, gets caught by a short right and his legs go out. He manages to tie up but he’s not steady. Clinch. Short uppercut from Fury. Fury digs a right to the body, leans on him. 1-2, clinch. Ref takes a point from Fury for refusing to break on his command. Fury slams some rights to the body and tries to swarm in the corner. 9-8, 48-44 Fury.

Round six: Wilder’s left ear is bleeding. Worrying.

Fury clubs him with another right and looks to swarm in the corner. Clinched. 1-2, more rights, clinch. Right hand to the body, clinch. Wilder looks beaten; he’s throwing back once in a while but there’s no venom. Fury punches into the clinch again. Thumping right, clinch. Fury backs him to the corner, roughhouses halfway through the round. More mauling by Fury. Clinching. Something’s up with Wilder’s right arm. Fury backs him up with a left hook. Another hook. 10-9, 58-53 Fury.

Round seven: If I’m Wilder’s corner I’m stopping this. This isn’t competitive anymore.

Fury marching forward, cracks him with a left hook. Jab exchange. Fury’s snaps his head back. Wilder jabs the body in return. Fury continuing to advance, backs Fury to the corner and opens up until the ref steps in.

Final result: Fury def. Wilder by TKO
