Bellator has set up a cracking welterweight fight for their September show in San Jose.
Bellator’s welterweight roster is probably the deepest of any of any division with some recent UFC additions, and it is allowing them to book fights fans really want to see. One of them has the potential to be amazing, and it’s set for September 23rd in San Jose – Paul Daley vs. Lorenz Larkin.
The first was first reported by The Telegraph.
Daley (39-15-2, 5-2 Bellator) is coming off a loss to the debuting Rory MacDonald in May. There had been lots of talk that he would fight Michael Page next, but that didn’t come to pass once again.
Larkin (18-6, 1 NC, 0-1 Bellator) was given a title shot right out of the gate in his Bellator debut, but lost a unanimous decision to champion Douglas Lima at Bellator NYC in June. He had won four of five in the UFC before signing with the competition.
Bellator 183 will be a show with both MMA and kickboxing matches, and will be headlined by a fight between Patricky Freire and Ben Henderson. Roy Nelson will also make his promotional debut on the card.
