It’s going to be a big weekend for Bellator, UFC, and Combate Global.
In addition to all three promotions running MMA events to close out the month of July, each organization will be represented at the Combate Global announce table, where Valerie Loureda joins Julianna Pena and Max Breto to call the “La Jaula” action on Aug. 1 from the Univision Studios in Miami.
Loureda, who turned 23 earlier this month, is coming off the first defeat of her pro career, falling to Hannah Guy at Bellator 259. As for Pena, her UFC 265 title fight was recently canceled when bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes contracted coronavirus.
Combate Global’s Aug. 1 fight card, which streams live on Paramount+ (English) alongside Univision and TUDN USA (Spanish) at 11 p.m. ET, will be headlined by the promotion’s first-ever European tournament with fighters representing Spain, France, Ireland, and Italy.
The winner’s country gains entry into the annual “Copa Combate” one-night, eight-man, $100,000 grand prize tournament in December.
