Luis Peña was arrested again on suspicion of domestic violence.
UFC lightweight Luis Peña was arrested on Saturday in Deerfield Beach, FL (per MMA Junkie). The former TUF contestant was reportedly charged with misdemeanour domestic violence and battery.
Peña’s arrest came after Broward County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call. This isn’t the first time Peña has been arrested this year.
In May he was charged with domestic battery after being accused of punching a woman in the face. In June he was charged with robbery by sudden snatching, battery and criminal mischief after he was accused of grabbing a woman’s phone and destroying it.
Peña was initially facing a felony over the June incident. However, his charges were downgraded to misdemeanors after his accuser decided to not move forwards with the case.
Peña’s charges stemming from the May incident are expected to be dismissed in exchange for Peña entering a diversion program that was likely to include anger management classes.
Peña entered the UFC in 2018 via TUF’s 27th season. After beating Richie Smullen on that show’s finale he lost a split decision to Michael Trizano.
Since then he has beaten Steven Peterson, Matt Wiman and Alexander Munoz and lost to Matt Frevola and Khama Worthy. His most recent fight, against Munoz, was at UFC Vegas 24 in April.
