Luke Rockhold mourns death of his father one week removed from UFC 199 title fight

Luke Rockhold is mourning the death of his father — Steve Rockhold — today, after the former Strikeforce and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight champion of the world took to Instagram to deliver the news by sharing an intimate family photo of himself, his father and his brothers.

Rockhold did not dive into details regarding his father’s death.

The unfortunate news comes one week after Luke suffered an upset first-round defeat at the hands of Michael Bisping in the main event of UFC 199, which went down on June 4, 2016 in Los Angeles, California.
