McGregor is once again teasing fights outside of the UFC, despite still being under contract with the promotion … not like they’re offering him any bouts.

Conor McGregor is once again proclaiming that he will fight for Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

How he’ll do that remains to be seen — he seems incapable of securing the last two fights on his UFC contract, which leaves him in a state of limbo with no end date in sight. But he talked a very convincing game during the BKFC Italy press conference on Sunday afternoon.

“If you think I’m up here giving these speeches and leading these men into battle and I wont step in there myself, think again,” McGregor declared. “For sure, Conor McGregor will fight in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. Mark my words.”

“I’d like a world title in this company,” he said later. “I would wish to be the Bare Knuckle world champion. That is a significant belt to hold in your career. Nobody from boxing or mixed martial arts can speak nothing bad on a Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship world champion. So for sure I would be coming in looking for the world title.”

He’s also interested in fighting some of the former UFC fighters under contract to BKFC.

“There are many bouts, showcase bouts,” McGregor said. “You could say Mike Perry. You could say Jeremy Stephens. You could say a rematch against Eddie Alvarez. You could say many matches. But the lightweight title, who’s the champion right now, lightweight, welterweight, let’s see. I am open. We will see when it comes.”

It won’t come any time soon without some sort of legal action from McGregor. The last word from UFC CEO Dana White had them planning a McGregor fight at the end of 2025. McGregor clearly isn’t happy with that — he attempted to force into reality a big money Influencer boxing fight with Logan Paul in India, only to have the idea shut down by UFC.

For now, McGregor is left pushing his business interests, which means a whole lot of drinking stout, smoking “Notorious” cigars, and hoarsely promoting Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.
