Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returned to the hurt business last weekend with the UFC Fight Night 170 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on ESPN+, which took place on March 14, 2020 inside an empty Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brasilia, Brazil.
Headlining the event were Charles Oliveira and Kevin Lee, a lightweight showdown that ended in submission victory for “Do Bronx.” The UFC Brasilia co-headliner between Gilbert Burns and Demian Maia also ended before the final round, thanks to a savage beating by “Durinho.”
Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) today released the injuries and medical suspensions for all 24 fighters competing at last Sat. night’s event. Veronica Macedo and John Makdessi will be joining the six-month club unless an approved doctor gives them early clearance.

Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases. In addition, not all injuries are recorded during the post-fight examination and often times surface in follow-up tests.
