Former UFC light heavyweight Vinny Magalhaes, who was the 205-pound runner-up for Season 8 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), is facing three felony charges after being arrested for assault with a deadly weapon last weekend in Las Vegas.
Ag Fight first reported the news on Friday.
Magalhaes, 40, is currently in custody at Clark County Detention Center, according to MMA Fighting, after allegedly threatening three victims with a weapon during a domestic argument; however, no shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
A conviction carries a maximum penalty of up to 18 years in prison.
The Brazilian parted ways with UFC in summer 2013 and went on to have an unsuccessful run for PFL. His last pro bout ended with a “No Contest” opposite fellow UFC and TUF veteran Antonio Carlos Jr. in the PFL regular season back in June 2021.
Magalhaes (19-12) will return to court on Dec. 23.
