Let’s try this again.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will once again ask welterweight veterans Neil Magny and Geoff Neal to hook ‘em up, this time at the UFC on ESPN 24 event on May 8, according to MMA Junkie, a card that is expected to be headlined by the bantamweight title eliminator between Cory Sandhagen and T.J. Dillashaw.
Magny and Neal and were originally paired off for the UFC Vegas 8 card last August; however, “Handz of Steel” was hospitalized with an infection that nearly killed him, so “The Haitian Sensation” instead went on to fight (and defeat) Robbie Lawler.
Neal (13-3) eventually made a full recovery and found himself booked against Stephen Thompson at UFC Vegas 17 last December, but “Wonderboy” proved to be too much to handle across their five-round headliner, sending Neal to the loss column for the first time in eight fights.
Magny (24-8) is looking to rebound from a Michael Chiesa drubbing at UFC on ESPN 20.
Also scheduled for the May 8 card on ESPN are welterweight veterans Donald Cerrone and Diego Sanchez. In addition, heavyweight hurters Maurice Greene and Marcos Rogerio de Lima try to make progress in the 265-pound weight class.
Expect more fight announcements in the coming weeks, if not days.
