Neil Magny and Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira will square off in Brazil in two months.
An intriguing welterweight bout is headed to Sao Paulo.
Neil Magny and Alex Oliveira are set to meet at UFC Fight Night 137 in September, Brazilian outlet Combate reported Thursday afternoon. UFC officials have yet to announce the news.
Magny (21-6) is coming off a first-round TKO win over newcomer Craig White at UFC Fight Night 130 in May. Prior to that, he alternated wins and losses in his previous four bouts. He holds recent victories over Carlos Condit and Johny Hendricks, plus losses to Rafael dos Anjos and Lorenz Larkin.
Oliveira (19-5-1), also known as “Cowboy,” last defeated former interim champ Condit via second-round submission in April. Prior to that, he fell to Yancy Medeiros in a 2017 “Fight of the Year” candidate. That loss snapped a five-fight unbeaten streak.
UFC Fight Night 137 takes place Sept. 22 at Ibirapuera Gymnasium. No main event has been confirmed for the card as of yet, but it will include a light heavyweight matchup between Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Sam Alvey.
