UFC Vegas 100 has its main event.
Sources have confirmed to MMAMania.com that No. 15 ranked Welterweight Neil Magny will put his ranking on the line against surging Brazilian prospect Carlos Prates in the main event of UFC Vegas 100 on Nov. 9, 2024, from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. MMAFighting was first to report the news.
UFC Vegas 100 will be the 100th UFC Fight Night to take place inside the promotion’s Apex facility. Seven pay-per-views took place in the facility.
Prates (20-6) has been red hot inside UFC, winning three “Performance of the Night” bonuses since receiving a contract on Contender Series in 2023. In his debut, he knocked out Trevin Giles, followed by a first-round knockout of Charles Radtke, and most recently, he became the first fighter to knock out Li Jingliang (watch highlights).
Magny (29-12) is coming off a first round submission loss against another surging prospect, Michael Morales. The 33-fight UFC veteran has alternated wins and losses in his last eight fights, including a come-from-behind upset win over Mike Malott.
