Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight veteran, Demian Maia, will attempt to string together consecutive wins for the first time in nearly two years when he collides with Anthony Rocco Martin at the upcoming UFC on ESPN 3: “Woodley vs. Lawler 2” mixed martial arts (MMA) event on Sat., June 29, 2019 inside Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
That’s according to a report from Combate.
Maia (26-9) snapped a three-fight losing streak by submitting Dhiego Lima at UFC Fight Night 144 back in February. It’s been a long and winding road for the two-time title contender, who turns 42 later this year and may be in the midst of his final run.
As for Martin (16-4), he’s been a tough nut to crack over the last few years, racking up four straight wins with two violent finishes dating back to late 2017. In fact, the American Top Team (ATT) standout is 7-1 since falling to Leonardo Santos at UFC Fight Night 62.
Who ya’ got?
UFC on ESPN 3 will be headlined by the welterweight rematch between ex-division champions, Tyron Woodley and Robbie Lawler. The winner is expected to top a very short list of 170-pound title contenders heading into the second half of 2019.
