Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently announced its five-round middleweight headliner for the upcoming UFC on ESPN+ 18 main event, scheduled for Sat., Sept. 28, 2019 inside Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Jack Hermansson vs. Jared Cannonier.
Hermansson (20-4) fought his way into the middleweight Top 5 by turning away longtime contender, Ronaldo Souza, at UFC Ft. Lauderdale back in April. His upset victory over “Jacare” marked “The Joker’s” fourth straight win and pushed his UFC record to 7-2.
So much for this “challenge.”
As for Cannonier (12-4), he slowly but surely worked his way down from the heavyweight division, landing at middleweight and scoring successful technical knockout wins over David Branch and Anderson Silva. The “Killa Gorilla” is 5-4 in UFC but the winner of two straight.
Also getting their hands dirty at UFC Copenhagen are longtime welterweight veterans Thiago Alves and Gunnar Nelson, while Ovince Saint Preux and Michal Oleksiejczuk hook ‘em up in light heavyweight action.
Stay tuned for more UFC Copenhagen fight card announcements in the coming weeks.
