Another Brazilian middleweight fighter is set to join Giva ‘The Arm Collector’ Santana and Brian ‘The Beast’ Rogers as a participant in Bellator Fighting Championships season six 185-lbs tournament.
One time UFC fighter, Maiquel Falcão (28-4, 1NC) will make his Bellator debut this coming March as part of Bellator’s upcoming sixth season.
News of his addition was confirmed by Sherdog.com who spoke with sources within the promotion, noting that Falcão had signed a multi-fight deal with the Chicago based promotion.
Bellator’s Season Six tournament is expected to take place this coming March and will also feature tournaments in the bantamweight, featherweight, lightweight and welterweight divisions. Events will take place on Friday nights and air live on MTV2.
Falcão is 1-1 in his last two fights, having competed in October at a local event in Brazil where he earned a first round TKO victory. Falcão made his one and only appearance with the UFC in November 2010, where he earned a unanimous decision against Gerald Harris at UFC 123.
After being scheduled and pulled from several UFC cards, Falcão was released from the UFC last May following an arrest in Brazil over issues still stemming from an alleged assault back in 2002. He is currently 2-1 since that one UFC appearance.
