A 20-year-old Tampa man is accused of stabbing another man to death during a domestic dispute.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that Andy Flores-Tello, 20, has been charged with murder after a 35-year-old man was stabbed in what police are calling a domestic dispute.

Flores-Tello allegedly got into a confrontation with the deceased on Saturday evening. A witness, who lives at a resident with Flores-Tello and the deceased, called police to the home after hearing the two men fight in a bedroom, which they shared.

The witness reported that Flores-Tello and the deceased had been drinking and that they heard Flores-Tello yell, in Spanish, “You’re not my dad, I’ll kill you!” The witness said they then saw the deceased run from Flores-Tello, who was holding a kitchen knife. According to the witness, when the deceased turned around and assumed a fighting stance Flores-Tello stabbed him in the chest.

When police arrived at the scene they found the deceased slumped against a wall, bleeding from a stab wound in their chest. Detectives discovered an additional stab wound on the back of the man’s neck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Flores-Tello was arrested at a nearby intersection the next morning with what appeared to be blood stains on his pants.

Flores-Tello reportedly told police that he and the deceased were drinking together and that, at some point in the night, he decided to confront the man about allegedly cheating on his wife. Flores-Tello said the argument escalated and the deceased, who he referenced as a ‘Muay Thai boxer’, assumed a fighting stance.

According to Flores-Tello the deceased was able to take him down to the ground, where he then started striking him in the head. Flores-Tello said the next thing he remembers is waking up outside the house.

Flores-Tello is being held without bail.
