Christopher Blouir shot and killed Chapman last April.
According to the Akron Beacon Journal Christopher Blouir, 30, has plead guilty to murdering former Bellator fighter Isaiah Chapman. Chapman was shot and killed outside of his home in Akron on April 7, 2020. Chapman was 30-years-old.
Blouir, who was arrested shortly after the shooting, is expected to be sentenced in June. Initially Blouir was charged with aggravated murder, two counts of murder, felonious assault and carrying a concealed weapon. He plead guilty to all charges minus one of the murder counts.
In Ohio, aggravated murder carries the possibility of a life sentence.
Chapman began his pro MMA career in 2012 and won his first four fights, all with the NAAFS promotion. In 2013 he competed for that promotion’s vacant bantamweight title, but came up short versus Bryan Goldsby.
He rebounded with two wins in NAAFS in 2014. That same year he appeared at WSOF 13, losing a decision to current UFC bantamweight Timur Valiev. After a three win stint in Honor FC, a promotion where he won the bantamweight championship, Chapman signed for Bellator in 2019.
At Bellator 232 Chapman debuted with the organization, in a loss to Patchy Mix. That would be Chapman’s final fight.
