Jose Aldo and Cub Swanson might have thrown their names in the mix as a replacement for Frankie Edgar at UFC 218, but Max Holloway is eyeing potential bouts against Conor McGregor and Tony Ferguson, according to his manager Brian Butler.

Butler, owner of Sucker Punch Entertainment, said Holloway is ‘waiting on the call’ for a replacement and wished Edgar the best of luck in his recovery.

“When you become the champ the right way, the division is cleaned out… Choices are limited but we’ll fight anyone. Cub, Ortega, Ferguson, Conor… we’re just waiting on the call. Respect to @frankieedgar who truly deserved this fight and wishing him a speedy recovery,” Butler posted on Instagram.

Holloway, 25, captured the featherweight title at UFC 212, finishing two-time champ Aldo with a barrage of strikes in the third round. McGregor and Ferguson compete in the lightweight division, although ‘The Notorious’ is the former 145-pound champ and holds a win over ‘Blessed’ from 2013.

Perhaps Holloway, who is on an 11-fight win streak, is willing to step up and face McGregor or Ferguson at 155 lbs, although both bouts are unlikely to materialize and the Hawaiian will probably face a top featherweight contender such as Aldo or Swanson.

Edgar, who was originally scheduled to challenge Holloway, pulled out of UFC 218 with a facial injury and is expected to undergo surgery. The pay-per-view takes place next month, Dec. 2 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.
