Spoiler alert: He’s easily bored.
Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao joins a growing number of pugilistic purists who refuse to partake in the hype surrounding Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s “boring” showdown against Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight kingpin Conor McGregor.
Besides, “Pac Man” has more important fights to watch.
“The real fight and the best fight is Golovkin vs. Canelo,” Pacquiao told Yahoo Sports. “That’s the fight I will be watching. McGregor has no chance in this fight. In fact, it could be very boring. There is no way he will be able to land a meaningful punch on Floyd. How could he? He has no professional experience in boxing.”
I guess that’s one fan in favor of “real fights.”
McGregor managed to capture two crowns in mixed martial arts (MMA). After laying waste to Jose Aldo in the 145-pound weight class, “Notorious” jumped up to lightweight to sack Eddie Alvarez and claim the division throne.
Where he goes from here remains to be seen.
