Saturday, June 11, Bloody Elbow presents fight coverage of Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Rocky Martinez. HBO Boxing After Dark Martinez vs. Lomachenko airs live on HBO this Saturday, June 11 with a fight time of 10:00 p.m. ET / PT. Bloody Elbow will have live fight coverage, including results and discussion, right here.
For fans of technical boxing, it doesn’t get much better than Vasyl Lomachenko. The insanely decorated amateur made a much hyped pro debut in 2013. He’s now 5-1, a Featherweight world champion, and one of the best technicians in the world. Here, he steps up to Junior Lightweight to take on the tough Martinez, a very talented and tough Puerto Rican fighter who comes in off back to back wars with Orlando Salido last year. He provides a great test for Lomachenko in what should be a terrific fight.
Opening the broadcast is Felix Verdejo vs. Juan Jose Martinez. Verdejo is a much talked about young prospect, who both HBO and Top Rank obviously want to position as the next major Puerto Rican star. He is undefeated, but he’s also been given almost nothing but softballs – this bout is not much different.
