Kamaru Usman might not want to admit it, but the UFC welterweight champ knows exactly who Jorge Masvidal is.
After thrashing Nate Diaz to win the ‘BMF’ title at UFC 244 and KO’ing Ben Askren in record-breaking time (five seconds) at UFC 239, just about everyone in the MMA sphere knows who Jorge Masvidal is.
That’s why, when reigning UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman tried to play ignorant when asked about a possible title fight with Masvidal, ‘Gamebred’ released the following brilliantly edited video to put ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ in his place.
Masvidal highlighted all the times Usman acknowledged his skills prior to UFC 245, despite Usman playing dumb at the post-fight press conference.
Usman beat Colby Covington earlier this month in the UFC 245 main event at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile arena, stopping ‘Chaos’ in the fifth round to defend his welterweight title and break into the top-ten pound-for-pound rankings.
Masvidal hinted at a title fight against Usman following his stoppage win over Diaz but, at this stage of his career, the MMA veteran is more likely to accept a money fight against Conor McGregor. McGregor will return to the Octagon next month, Jan 18 to take on Donald Cerrone in the UFC 246 main event and, should he win, expect ‘The Notorious’ to call out Masvidal in his post-fight interview.
