Jorge Masvidal has been talking about a late 2021 return against “anyone that gets me to the title again,” a pretty big ask considering he’s just been defeated by the current 170-pound champion Kamaru Usman (twice), and “Nigerian Nightmare” doesn’t look like he’s going anywhere.
But, on the plus side, there are interesting bouts out there for “Gamebred,” and in a recent public appearance Masvidal threw out two potential names that we’re very interested in seeing happen.
Speaking at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, Masvidal answered a fan’s question on who he’d fight next, saying, “I don’t know man, s—t. Durinho’s calling me out. If we can make it pop with Durinho, Leon, any one of these guys that gets me closer to the belt. I don’t care how many fights I have to.”
@GamebredFighter is coming for either @Leon_edwardsmma or @GilbertDurinho idk if that’s technically Abdelaziz on his account or whatever ??? Fuck em up like Tay Keith! #GameBred #StreetJesus pic.twitter.com/S4tmvtfA7C

Gilbert “Durhino” Burns was quick to respond to Masvidal’s call out, saying he was more than happy to fight in November or December.
Hey @GamebredFighter you know it’s all respect from me, let’s dance in November or December. I’m ready my guy #supernecessary let’s do this

Edwards hasn’t bothered to post anything on his Twitter since last week, but you know he’s been hoping to avenge that “three piece and soda” incident for a long time. Here’s what he said back in July about a potential fight with Masvidal:
I’ll be ready in November or December. Stop with the excuses #backinblood https://t.co/JVcFyQihZu

So what do you think, Maniacs? Who would you like to see Masvidal fight next?
