NEW YORK, NY - NOVEMBER 04: Jorge Masvidal

Darren Till hasn’t had much luck getting an opponent, but Jorge Masvidal is up for the challenge.

Jorge Masvidal thought he finally had a big fight lined up. After fighting three times in 2017, Masvidal sat out all of 2018 but was set to meet Nick Diaz in early 2019. Unfortunately for him, Diaz wasn’t actually interested in competing so he bowed out, leaving Masvidal out in the cold. So he’s trying to take things into his own hands.

“Gamebred” is usually pretty caustic on social media when it comes to calling out other fighters, but he took a different approach against the last welterweight title challenger. Masvidal respectfully asked Darren Till for a fight, and he’s willing to do it on Till’s turf:

Till didn’t use words to respond, but I think you can guess by his gif choice that he’s down for the fight:

Till has been out of the Octagon for a little while as well, not competing since his September loss (the first of his career) to Tyron Woodley. The 26-year-old had stated his intentions to move up to middleweight late last year, but it seems that he would stay at 170 to get a high-profile fight with a guy like Masvidal.

As usual though, we’ll have to want and see if the UFC is as on board for these two guys squaring off as they seem to be.
