Brown now has at least four more months of rehab before we’ll see him in the cage again.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Matt “The Immortal” Brown in the cage, and it’ll be a while longer. Brown was set to face Carlos Condit in April of 2018 before he suffered an ACL tear that’s set to keep him out until the fall. As if that wasn’t enough, he just learned that he’ll need some pretty serious ankle surgery as well. Here’s Matt sharing the news on Twitter.
Good news is I spoke with dr’s yesterday and figured out why my ankle has been hurting badly for the last 3 years. Bad news is it needs surgery and 4 months of rehab including 8 weeks non weight bearing (crutches)

There’s no better time to take care of a lingering ankle injury than when you’re out on an ACL injury. Like Brock Lesnar’s USADA suspension and USADA re-entry period, they can both be served at once. And maybe I’m giving too much power to this ankle issue, but notice three years ago is exactly when Matt Brown went from his 7 fight win streak to his 2-5 skid. We may have to wait a little bit longer, but who knows what sort of “Immortal” we may see when Brown returns to the cage near the end of 2018?
