Mauricio “Shogun” Rua didn’t get a title shot after defeating Brandon Vera in the main event of UFC on FOX 4.

But the former UFC light heavyweight champion at least got a consolation prize: He’s taking home the most loot from the Aug. 4 event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

According to figures released by the California State Athletic Commission on Wednesday, “Shogun” made $240,000 on the evening: $170,000 in base pay and another $70,000 for a win bonus. That puts him ahead of fellow Brazilian Lyoto Machida, who took home a flat fee $200K for knocking out Ryan Bader.

Figures do not include post-fight awards, promotional fees or various other undisclosed bonuses.
