Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweights, Neil Magny and Michael Chiesa, are making things easy for promotion matchmakers, Mick Maynard and Sean Shelby, after agreeing to throw down during the UFC 248 pay-per-view (PPV) event.
Magny (22-7) made his triumphant return to mixed martial arts (MMA) last weekend in Las Vegas, shutting down welterweight bruiser, Jingliang Li, across 15-minutes of one-sided action on the UFC 248 main card (more on that here).
“I think this gets me right back in the mix,” Magny said (via MMA Junkie). “The division has been shaken up a bit since I’ve been gone, but I showed tonight that I can jump back in there with the best of them, so I’d love to jump back in there with Chiesa.”
Didn’t take much convincing.

Chiesa (17-4) is 3-0 since moving to welterweight back in late 2018 and was last seen taking a unanimous decision win over former lightweight champion, Rafael dos Anjos, at UFC Fight Night 166 back in January.
Magny vs. Chiesa … who wants it?
