Floyd Mayweather Jr. shoots down any talk of a possible rematch with Conor McGregor.
Conor McGregor has said on more than one occasion that he is interested in a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. but, judging by a recent interview with TMZ Sports, ‘Money’ isn’t even thinking about the proposition.
“Hahahaha. Boy, boy, boy, boy, boy. These kids are some circus clowns. They can’t f*ck with Money May,” Mayweather said when asked about a possible McGregor rematch.
Mayweather, 42, TKO’d McGregor in the 10th round of their boxing extravaganza back in August of 2017, extending his professional record to a perfect 50-0. McGregor, the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, returned to the UFC the following year to take on Khabib Nurmagomedov for the lightweight championship. The Irishman lost the bout via submission, succumbing to a rear-naked choke in the fourth round of the UFC 229 main event at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.
McGregor hasn’t fought since that bout and, judging by his latest cryptic tweet, the former ‘champ-champ’ won’t be returning to the Octagon anytime soon, if at all.
