One way or another, Floyd Mayweather was going to insert himself in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), and now he’s accomplished just that.
Middleweight contender, Makhmud Muradov, has inked a contract with the worlds biggest mixed martial arts (MMA) organization in the world, as he is set to face Alessio Di Chirico later on Sept. 28 at UFC Fight Night 160 in in Copenhagen, Denmark.
So where does Floyd fit into all of this? “Money” just so happens to be Muradov’s promoter, and is the only MMA fighter to be on “The Money Team.” So you know he will have plenty of promotion moving forward.
And here’s a taste:
Makhmud is currently riding an impressive 11-fight win streak, and has won 15 of his last 16 fights. More impressively, 11 of those wins have come via stoppage. His already ha four fights this year, and will look to add to his streak on very short notice.
Chirico, meanwhile, has had a pretty average run so far in his UFC career, going 3-3 and was last seen coming up short on he judges scorecards against Kevin Holland at UFC Fight Night 154 this past June.
It will be interesting to see if Floyd ever finds himself sitting front row for one of Makhmud’s fights if he ever finds himself book to to fight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
UFC Fight Night 160 will feature a 185-pound showdown between top contenders Jared Cannonier and Jack Hermansson, while Gunnar Nelson takes on Gilbert Burns in the co-headlining act.
