Floyd Mayweather Jr. appears to be trying to lure Conor McGregor back into the boxing ring.

It didn’t take long for Floyd Mayweather Jr. to try and bait Conor McGregor back into the boxing ring following ‘The Notorious’s’ shock retirement from MMA on Sunday.

McGregor, 31, accused the UFC of trying to ‘stomp all over him’ and said he was involved in a power struggle with the premiere fight promotion.

Mayweather, however, believes the Irishman has buckled under the pressure and berated his one-time opponent for ‘quitting’.

‘The Best Ever’ said he will be waiting to ‘punish you again’ should McGregor come out of retirement.

“If I’m not mistaken, didn’t you tell Mike Tyson you could beat me if we fought a second time? Now you’re quitting! I thought you wanted to beat the best? Well, if you decide to come back, I will be waiting to punish you again,” Mayweather responded in the comments.

In a recent interview with Fight Hype (h/t MMA Fighting), Mayweather admitted that it would take a fighter like McGregor to lure him out of his own retirement.

“If I see an opportunity where I can entertain and have a little fun and make $600 million, why not?,” Mayweather said. “And if I was to come back, why come back and fight a fighter that only can sell out little cities? I like to face guys that got countries behind them. If I am gonna do something, it’s got to be worth it.”

Mayweather fought McGregor in a boxing match back in 2017, which saw ‘Money’ TKO the SBG Ireland product in the 10th round. Mayweather is reported to have earned $100 million for the matchup, while McGregor, the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, made an estimated $30 million.
