Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor is official, but does that mean the end of Conor McGregor’s UFC career?
It’s been six months since Conor McGregor’s last UFC fight, a second-round TKO win over Eddie Alvarez to capture the lightweight title. He’s long been pursuing a superfight in the boxing ring with Floyd Mayweather, and on Wednesday the bombshell announcement was made that Floyd vs. Conor will happen on August 26th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Showtime will carry this blockbuster pay-per-view event.
There is absolutely no point in creating a “Who wins?” poll, because that’s what everyone is doing, so here’s a different one. With McGregor set to make more money in this fight than all of his UFC bouts put together, is he ever going to return to the Octagon? Dana White says “I think we will” see him compete again, and the August date provides McGregor an opportunity to headline the UFC’s New Year’s Eve show on December 30th.
So what do you think? Have we seen the last of McGregor in the UFC? Choose your answer in the poll below and also sound off in the comments section.
