Conor McGregor and Max Holloway went at it on social media during St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

Things are once again heating up between Conor McGregor and Max Holloway.

McGregor, a former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion, reminisced about his 2013 win over Holloway, the current 145-pound titleholder, in a social media post early Sunday morning. McGregor beat Holloway at Boston’s TD Garden, where the Irishman also holds a 2015 win over Dennis Siver.

McGregor was in Boston for St. Patrick’s Day weekend. “The Notorious” gave the Boston Bruins a pep talk in their locker room before their game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

“McGregor’s Garden!” he wrote on Twitter.

Holloway responded to McGregor in a series of tweets, reminding McGregor that he was only 21 years old, while McGregor was 25, when they fought six years ago.

McGregor tore his ACL in the Holloway fight. He was unable to return to the Octagon until a July 2014 win over Diego Brandao, which took place in Dublin, Ireland and was a major showcase fight for him.

Holloway said in his tweets that he would beat the 21-year-old version of himself, too, but that he would do so worse than McGregor did. He also added that McGregor lost to current UFC fighter Joseph Duffy at a similar age Holloway was when he fell to McGregor. (Note: McGregor was actually 22 when he lost to Duffy, not 21 as Holloway wrote.)

McGregor, unsurprisingly, responded to Holloway, asking the Hawaiian fighter known as “Blessed” if he knew where his ACL was.

“I took my acl and shoved it up your arse that night kid,” McGregor wrote. “You don’t still have it by any chance? I’m lookin for it years.”

In response to McGregor, Holloway called out the UFC superstar for a fight at International Fight Week in July.

“There you go, that’s the OG champ champ the world wants,” Holloway wrote. “I do have [your ACL]. White belt bum 21 year old Max gave it to me to return to you in Dublin. Glad you found your confidence again in Boston. You can find your ACL again in Vegas in July.”

Holloway is scheduled to fight Dustin Poirier for the UFC interim lightweight title at UFC 236 in April. The winner of the bout is expected to meet champ Khabib Nurmagomedov closer to the end of the year. “The Eagle,” who is coming off an October win over McGregor, has said he won’t fight until his teammates’ suspensions from the infamous UFC 229 brawl are over.

McGregor hasn’t fought since his submission loss to Nurmagomedov. The fight headlined the highest-selling pay-per-view card in UFC history. McGregor hasn’t won since his Novemeber 2016 lightweight title victory over Eddie Alvarez. Between the Alvarez and Nurmagomedov bouts, McGregor had a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather in August 2017.
