Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White recently shipped bout agreements to former lightweight champion Conor McGregor and ex-interim 155-pound titleholder Dustin Poirier for an end of year rematch in either Las Vegas or Abu Dhabi.
The status of that non-charity bout has yet to be determined.
But that hasn’t stopped the sportsbooks from opening the lines for their pending rematch and “Notorious,” not surprisingly, stands as the -220 favorite against +185 for “The Diamond.” That’s according to the number crunchers over at BetOnline.ag.
McGregor stopped Poirier in their featherweight meeting in late 2014.
Both combatants have moved up in weight to varying success. The power-punching Irishman became the world’s richest mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter while the Louisianan went on to win 10 of his next 12 fights, which includes victories over Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway.
If and when the promotion does get these two back inside the Octagon, expect them to be atop a very short list to challenge the winner of this fight.
