McGregor Injured, Forced To Wear Cast

Any hope of seeing Conor McGregor back inside the Octagon by this summer just evaporated quicker than the noxious fumes from his Proper No. 12 whiskey, as the power-punching Irishman is now stuck in a cast following “intense training.”

Bummer.

“Notorious” has not been seen since his UFC 229 submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov, which resulted in a post-fight “win” after the shit hit the proverbial fan. Sadly, last October’s return was McGregor’s first appearance since late 2016.

It’s hard to watch one of the best fighters in the world waste so many years of his athletic prime, but that’s one of the benefits of being filthy rich. On the plus side, a mangled mitt might keep him from smashing any more cell phones.

In his absence, Nurmagomedov will defend his division title against interim straphanger, Dustin Poirier, at UFC 242 in September, while Donald Cerrone and Tony Ferguson battle it out at UFC 238 for a spot in the 155-pound title chase.

See you in December?
