Conor McGregor would just like to remind everyone that he’d kill Floyd Mayweather in the cage.
There’s still no activity to report as far as Conor McGregor returning to the UFC for his next fight. But that hasn’t stopped McGregor from getting his jabs in on social media, where he swings back and forth between the warmest of holiday salutations for his fans and rabid contempt for all his opponents both past and future.
That included Floyd Mayweather, who was in the news last week after he briefly considered accepting a fight in the UFC. Common sense prevailed and he quickly backtracked, leaving McGregor to call him a pussy on Twitter. Now Conor is firing off again, letting Floyd know he only survived their last fight because they were competing under Marquis of Queensbury rules.
“Shin bone to the cheek bone,” McGregor wrote. “The rule set kept you out the funeral home.”
I bet this is going to be an enduring message the UFC lightweight champion will be making for years to come. Every time Mayweather trots out that line that he carried McGregor through their boxing match, McGregor will remind him that he wouldn’t last a minute in the cage with him. Rinse and repeat until both are 80 years old or Mayweather spends enough of his fortune to learn that reality first hand.
