‘The Notorious’ has accused Kamaru Usman of stealing his one-liners and now he thinks Usman is stealing his knockout punches.
Time zones being what they are, Irish sports superstar Conor McGregor didn’t end up watching UFC 261 live with the rest of us in North America. Instead, he took the wild card in the morning after, and as usual he didn’t hesitate to share his thoughts (coherent and otherwise) on the card via social media.
His first post regarding the return of fans:
The crowd has me salivating like a dog.

And then a not so subtle jab at Jake Paul and Triller:
UFC high level fighting > Blogger jackass boxing

You better believe he had some things to say about Chris Weidman’s horrific leg injury, and leg kicks in general.
Hoping Chris Weidman has full recovery! Never nice to see.
Crazy is the calf kick. No skill, balance, or flexibility, or anything does it take. It’s like watching a punt of a pig skin in the 50s. Up the yard!
Crazy how it can go either way. One great for you, or real bad against— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) April 25, 2021
He had to have a load of micro fractures in the leg possibly for it snap then. The placement of the kick was nice enough. It wasn’t fully checked. He hit the meat. Enough of it anyway. Had to have been damaged over time without knowing. Wear and tear.
Careful on them kicks lads!— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) April 25, 2021
But his most interesting thoughts he reserved for “The Nigerian Nightmare” Kamaru Usman, who took on a very game Jorge Masvidal and knocked “Gamebred” out in the second round.
Usman even copying my shots now. Am I to fight this guy at some stage?
I think so. Can’t be copying my words and my shots and not get a smack for it. I like 170. It’s mine soon. pic.twitter.com/FEQgj9AsAy— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) April 25, 2021
I’m a block at 170 guys. Give me till end of year at this 155 weight. I’ll get the strap and then I’ll go up again. After green fungus panties hahaha “cos any one of these fools can get it” – usman

If you’re wondering what McGregor is talking about regarding Usman copying him … well, it has been noticed that Kamaru borrows from Conor’s deep well of past trash talk from time to time.

But while McGregor may still be the undisputed king of trash talk in the UFC, we don’t think he’d fare too well up at 170 pounds against monsters like Usman. “The Notorious” is already having a hard time handling the power of fighters at lightweight.
We know he’s a confident man, but we just don’t see him doing anything but getting ragdolled at welterweight … or at least at welterweight against a real welterweight, not puffed up lightweights.
