A lightweight bout between Melvin Guillard and Mac Danzig has been added to the July 27 card, which will take place at Key Arena in Seattle. The promotion announced the booking Wednesday.
Guillard (30-12) has lost two fights in a row, as well as four of his last five. Prior to this skid Guillard had won five in a row. “The Young Assassin” recently announced that he would be leaving The Blackzilians team in South Florida for his old Jackson-Winkeljohn team in New Mexico, however, according to sources within the camp, Guillard was not welcome back there. Since then, Guillard decided to join Team Grudge in Colorado.
Since losing three fights in a row from 2008 to 2009, Danzig (21-10-1) is 3-3 inside the Octagon. He most recently lost a split decision to Takanori Gomi at UFC on FUEL TV 6 in November.
The full UFC on FOX 8 card is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. The UFC returns to FOX for a seventh time on April 20.
