Bellator welterweight knockout specialist Michael Page has pulled out of his upcoming bout vs. Fernando Gonzalez on March 4th.

Bellator 151 has taken a strong hit as sensational kickboxer and flashy showman Michael Page has pulled out of the event scheduled for March 4th. MMA Junkie reported the news on Tuesday evening. According to MMA Fighting, Page had an undisclosed injury that prompted his decision to withdraw from the card.

Page was coming into the Gonzalez bout with 4 KO/TKOs in his 5 appearances inside the Bellator cage, including a barrage of elbows vs. Charlie Ontiveros at Bellator 144 in October. The still undefeated British striker (9-0) was set to face hard-hitting Fernando Gonzalez (24-13), but will now be replaced by former Ultimate Fighter contestant and Legacy/Titan/RFA veteran Gilbert Smith. Smith’s record currently stands at 12-4, and is currently on a two-win fight streak including a TKO win against former UFC fighter Bristol Marunde at RFA 31 this past October.

Bellator 151 will be headlined by former bantamweight champion Joe Warren taking on surging prospect, Darrion Caldwell (8-0). The event takes place at the Winstar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma.
