Michael Page vs. Paul Daley is happening, just not in England.
At last, we have a date and venue for Michael Page vs. Paul Daley.
After an initial report from ESPN, Bellator officials confirmed on Friday that the two British strikers will square off on February 16th at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut. The bout is one of the quarterfinal matchups in the promotion’s welterweight tournament. Why it’s not in the United Kingdom given their rivalry is beyond me, but the most important thing is that the fight is scheduled to happen in just over two months.
Daley (40-16-2) enters this tournament having lost to Jon Fitch at Bellator 199. His most recent win was an explosive KO of tournament alternate Lorenz Larkin back in September 2017. “Semtex” has scored a knockout in five of his six wins under the Bellator banner, and will surely be looking to add to that total against Page.
Page (13-0) is one of Bellator’s most flashy knockout specialists. “MVP” fought just once in 2018, winning by TKO when David Rickels essentially quit after being humiliated and dominated by Page at Bellator 200. He also has a flying knee KO over Evangelista Santos, which led to a skull fracture on the Brazilian. The only other combat sports bout for Page this year was a boxing match, easily winning by TKO vs. Michal Ciach.
The Page vs. Daley fight, along with the rest of the card, will air live exclusively on DAZN with a main card start time of 10 PM ET/7 PM PT.
