Michael Page is set to lock horns against Richard Kiely at Bellator Dublin.
Michael ‘Venom’ Page will look to spring back into the winners column when he takes on welterweight prospect Richard Kiely in the Bellator Dublin co-main event on September 27, Irish Mirror confirmed on Wednesday.
Page, 32, suffered the first defeat of his professional career when he was knocked out by former welterweight champion Douglas Lima in the semi-finals of Bellator’s welterweight grand prix back in May. ‘MVP’ was brutally knocked out with an uppercut and follow-up punches after being caught with a leg kick in the second round.
Page’s opponent, Richard Kiely, is just 3-1 in his professional MMA career and will be the considerable underdog heading into the fight. The Irishman trains alongside former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor at Dublin’s SBG Ireland facility. Kiely’s three career victories come by way of first-round stoppage.
Bellator Dublin, which features a headlining clash between James Gallagher and Cal Ellenor, takes place on September 27 at 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.
