Just a warning, folks – this one is pretty graphic.
Mickey Gall earned his stripes in the UFC by defeating pro wrestler CM Punk and fellow Lookin’ For A Fight breakout star Sage Northcutt. But he didn’t do it at 100%. In fact, his doctor told him he shouldn’t have fought for six months after suffering a huge cut over his eyebrow three weeks before the Punk fight last year.
Gall posted a pic of the nasty cut and gave an explanation about it on Instagram (viewer discretion advised):
If you can’t read it in the post, here’s what he said about it:
“I got this cut 3 WEEKS BEFORE fighting CM Punk… Accidental head butt in practice, 21 STITCHES… Doc said I can’t fight for 6 MONTHS (yeah right). He said if eye gets TOUCHED within 6 months it’ll reopen. So I keep it a SECRET. I end up fighting TWICE in 4 MONTHS. Get GRAZED in second fight. 8 MORE stitches. 2 superstars whooped, 1 born… Worth it”
The 25-year-old Gall (4-0, 3-0 UFC) defeated Punk by submission at UFC 203 last September, then followed it up with another submission win over Northcutt in the UFC on Fox 22 co-main event in December. His next fight has not been booked as of yet.
