Welcome to Midnight Mania!

UFC Heavyweight champion Jon Jones isn’t struggling for cash.

“Bones” has been a UFC star for a long time and been the main event of many high-profile events. He can afford to take time off and bring in the best possible training partners and coaches to prepare for a title fight. Even this late in his career, Jones has lined himself up for one of the biggest paychecks of his career opposite Tom Aspinall, the current interim Heavyweight king.

In a recent interview with Alex Gonzalez, Jones revealed that fighting is far from his only source of income. Per Jones, he’s making six-figures to show up briefly to a party or sign a handful of items.

“Dana White, my boss, he told me a long time ago, ‘Jon, money will never be your issue,’” Jones began. “He said, ‘Never worry about money, it will never be your issue. It will always come to you for the rest of your life.’

“It seems like the less I think about money, the more it comes to me. It’s just falling in my hands these days, and I’m grateful for it. I make really good money doing really, really silly things. Show up to a party for a half an hour for $100k. Sign a few items for $100k. I barely leave my house for anything less than $100k these days, it just comes from left and right. I’m grateful for it.”

MMA has a lot of financial horror stories, so it’s nice to hear at least one win.

It’s been just over a month since Jones returned to action at UFC 309, stopping Stipe Miocic in dominant fashion to retain his title. As mentioned, he’s expected to face Aspinall some time next year, though nothing is yet official. With side hustles like this, it’s fair to say Jones has the time and leverage to negotiate!
