Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!
Welcome to Midnight Mania!
The trash talk between Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya continues. Earlier in the week, Jones took another shot at Adesanya’s unique relationship with anime and cartoons. It’s a subject that Jones has attacked in the past, calling Adesanya a “f*cking nerd” and accusing him of pandering to anime fans.

Never one to miss an opportunity to talk some smack, Adesanya responded, claiming that Jones was “out of touch” with internet culture and acts like a “suburban dad.”

Currently, it seems like Adesanya’s immediate plan is to actively defend the UFC Middleweight championship. He’s invited Jones to make the cut and fight him for that belt, but it seems unlikely. If both men are able to hold onto their respective titles throughout 2020, however, a super fight between the two grows far more likely.
Until then, expect more barbs to be traded — particularly if either man was to lose.
Insomnia
Speaking of “Bones,” he’s on Twitter teasing another fight sooner than later.
Just a few weeks away from my next fight, can’t wait for you guys to find out when.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk’s ankle/foot is still in the process of recovery. Ouch!
Derrick Lewis’ Instagram is FIRE!
I don’t normally care to post Professional Wrestling clips, but come on, it’s Bas Rutten!

Low kicks are really among the most trustworthy weapon in the sport. Certain fighters are tough enough to endure insanely powerful punches or ignore broken joints, but once the leg is hampered, that’s usually the end.

I’ll never grow tired of the initial explosion of Sumo matches.

A very small change in level/look down set up this head kick following the cross.

How many of our readers broke a foot in similar circumstances?
This has been a particularly violent night of Midnight Mania. Let’s end on a more serene note:
Midnight Music: I’m still listening and learning about all the Billboard Hot 100 singles, and I’ve made my way up to 1975. Here’s a classic:
Sleep well Maniacs! More martial arts madness is always on the way.
