Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!
Welcome to Midnight Mania!
A major style clash between Heavyweight contenders Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis is once again set to go down. The original bout was set to take place back on November 28, 2020, but COVID-19 derailed the contest when Blaydes tested positive just one day prior to the fight.
Per a report from ESPN, it’s been rescheduled to headline a UFC Fight Night event on February 20, 2020. The event does not yet have a confirmed location, though it’s likely to be the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A good deal of trash talk has surrounded the match up, but ultimately, it’s an important Heavyweight contest regardless of the hype. Blaydes has won four consecutive bouts, including big victories over Alexander Volkov and Junior dos Santos. Really, “Razor” has been perfect against everyone except Francis Ngannou.
Meanwhile, Lewis is building toward earning his second Heavyweight title shot. “The Black Beast” has put together a three-fight win streak of his own, most recently stopping Aleksei Oleinik (WATCH IT!) in a main event slot.
One big man will inch closer to the Heavyweight title. Who gets it done?

Darren Till with a message to up-and-comers looking to find “alternative” ways to improve their skills:
Dana White promises to crack (lol) down on dirty streamers in 2021! Of course, UFC and White have been trying for a long, long time …

Maybe practice with something lighter first … or at all.
Bad lighting, weight cut, or genuinely rough aging?

No respect!
I like to meme on Mike Perry as much as anyone, but the guy needs help.
Cool takedown and all, but wrestling this close to other people is a definite recipe for disaster.

Bellator MMA and nut shots go together like peanut butter and chocolate.
Per Wikipedia, Kudo is a Japanese hybrid martial art, that seems to somewhat resemble MMA in head gear and the gi. Safe to say I don’t know much about it, but Osada seems to be rather good!

Midnight Music: Longtime Country singer Steve Earle released an album dedicated to his recently deceased son, Americana artist Justin Townes Earles. J.T. is mostly made up of covers of his son’s work, more upbeat than one would expect, and is certainly worth a listen.
Sleep well Maniacs! More martial arts madness is always on the way.
