Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight
Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Heavyweight Daniel Cormier is back, and back with a vengeance. With no need to lean on a towel to make 205 lbs., DC has packed on the weight. He is up to 245 lbs- Stipe weighed in at 246 in his last fight at UFC 220- the heaviest Cormier has weighed since his Strikeforce days. (He was 238 for his fight with Josh Barnett).
Daniel Cormier weight update: He tells me he’s currently 245 pounds and plans to be around that weight heading into the octagon at #UFC226

This probably isn’t a problem. Cormier always performed very well at heavyweight; the man once called “Black Fedor” hit harder, tossed the biggest guys on their heads with ease, and enjoyed a speed advantage over all of his opponents. Nevertheless, the betting public don’t like his odds against the greatest heavyweight champion the UFC has seen.
Cormier, though, is confident.

His striking looks on point, which it will need to be against Stipe.

What say you? Does Cormier have a chance to win his superfight this Saturday?

Brian Ortega is Mr. Steal-Your-Girl. It absolutely sucks we won’t get to see him fight Max Holloway this weekend.

This 2011 prediction about the growth of MMA seems eerily prescient now.
