Welcome, to Midnight Mania!

Tony Ferguson won’t be booked for a fight in the near-term future, because his boss thinks he has some issues to work through first. UFC president Dana White gave his thoughts to Kevin Iole of Yahoo. Via MMAFighting.com:

“Tony had hit me up after the Max Holloway fight went to [Dustin] Poirier and was saying, ‘What’s next for me?’” White said. “I said, ‘Well, we can get you a fight with Al Iaquinta.’ Reached out to Al, Al was interested in the fight. But the reality is that right now Tony has a lot of personal problems that he needs to deal with. I don’t think that putting him in a fight right now would be in his best interest. He needs to handle his personal stuff first.”

Ferguson is riding an 11-fight win streak, and won the interim title only to be later stripped of it after tripping over a cable and tearing his ACL in a freak accident. He returned from that injury to beat Anthony Pettis in the co-main event of UFC 229.

He has not fought since, and recently, it was revealed that his wife, Christina Ferguson, has filed a restraining order against him after he exhibited erratic and paranoid behavior, including tearing his house apart looking for cameras, and thinking his son is Jesus Christ. Christina wrote that his behavior got worse after the UFC took his belt away.

“[His] behavior is getting worse and more frightening,” Cristina wrote. “I am afraid that during one of [Tony’s] episodes [Tony] will kill me, our son and/or himself.”

The court has scheduled a domestic violence prevention services investigation into Tony Ferguson for March 22 and a hearing for April 5. He has not been arrested, nor charged with a crime.

Ferguson posted today that his psychologist appointment went well, which is a hopeful sign that things are looking up for him.

I feel like these two might need to be in different weight classes or something

Donald Cerrone vs. Al Iaquinta is a perfect matchup, and also opens the door for McGregor vs. the winner of Max Holloway-Dustin Poirier.

Derrick Lewis should not have posted my car like this.

Stephen Thompson ought to destroy Anthony Pettis this weekend, but it will be fun for as long as it lasts
