Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Though Jon Jones has talked about a Heavyweight move many times over the last ten years or so, this time it appears to be real. “Bones” has officially vacated the Light Heavyweight title, clearing the way for himself to challenge the big men, while also creating an opportunity for Dominick Reyes to fight Jan Blachowicz for the 205-pound belt.

Reyes, however, is still somewhat fixated on Jones. “The Dominator” believes he deserved the nod over Jones in their competitive UFC 247 bout, and he has accused to Jones of running from the rematch. Jones already has requested Reyes slap himself back to reality, but Reyes continues to talk on Instagram.

In a comment replying to Reyes, Jones wrote, “You earned your opportunity to fight for the championship and you came up short. I know having me pop your cherry like that had to [have] been real depressing, but it’s time for you to move on now.

“Instead of trying to start some ridiculous campaign that I’m running from you, you actually should be thanking me. Think about it, an amazing opportunity was taken from Jan. You should just be grateful and keep your mouth shut.”

Somehow, I don’t expect Reyes to take Jones’ advice, at least not while hopes of a potential rematch are still alive. At the moment, however, Reyes would likely be well-advised to focus on the “Polish Power” of Jan Blachowicz, lest he find himself fisted in their title fight.

The gift wrap is such a dominant position. If you ever find yourself the person on bottom with his arm wrapped, it’s time to fully freak out.

The comments say the gas in question is sulfur hexafluoride not CO2, but a cool trick regardless.

Midnight Music: I’ve been trying to put together a playlist of country songs I like (I’m picky for this genre), so here’s an obvious one that makes the cut.
