Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight
Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Volkan Oezdemir is having visa issues, and that is forcing his fight with Mauricio “Shogun” Rua off of UFC: Chile. However, if you thought the UFC were going to find an easier opponent for the venerable Shogun, think again: they are planning on re-booking the May 19th bout, according to Combate. Originally, the fight was booked as the main event, but currently Kamaru Usman vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio is listed as the main event for a card that also includes Alexa Grasso and the re-booked Ray Borg vs. Brandon Moreno.
Per @raphamarinho, Shogun and Oezdemir will not be happening at #UFCChile because Oezdemir is being prevented from leaving the US.
The fight will be rescheduledhttps://t.co/EqoHHo71zX

The difficulty lies in the felony assault charges Oezdemir faces, which are preventing him from travelling to South America for the Shogun bout.
Yes and it surprises me that this wasn’t flagged beforehand.
