Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!
Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Paige VanZant may not be able to fight right now, but she knows how to keep her customers satisfied.
In truth, time’s have been rough for Paige VanZant in the MMA world. She managed to bounce back from a two-fight losing streak in January with a brutal armbar win over Rachel Ostovich. Just as she hoped to continue building momentum at 125 lbs., however, VanZant reinjured her arm yet again, forcing her into surgery.
Luckily, VanZant has access to revenue sources that the average fighter cannot dream of, as her 2.2 million followers on Instagram mean she’s among the most valuable athletes in the sport to sponsor. In addition, she made her Sports Illustrated debut in the Swimsuit Edition earlier this year, so there’s a fair chance VanZant is still making more from the sidelines than most of her peers.
Don’t hate the player, hate the game!
Insomnia
Fili’s got jokes!
I make it a point not to judge tattoos. I appreciate both the brilliant art and find crappy scratchers hilarious. I have to admit though, I don’t quite understand why any fan would ever get an MMA fighter on his/her — let’s be real, HIS — body… At least this one is done well!
Thiago Santos’ surgery was a success, and livers around the world have curled up in apprehension.
A pair of young Muay Thai talents showing good control in their sparring.
Saenchai’s side-by-sides of him teaching a technique vs. him hitting it multiple times in different fights are my absolute favorite thing on Instagram.
Eddie Abasolo is a bad man.
Francis Ngannou is doing great work with his foundation.
Amanda Nunes is hear to kick ass and drink beer — but she’s pretty much out of asses to kick!
Slips, rips, and KO clips
A bit of trivia that seems fairly obscure in 2019: “Rampage” Jackson competed in K-1 twice, a pair of victorious efforts against Cyrille Diabate in 2002.
Soccer kick KOs are the pinnacle of the sport.

Day12 AND Azumaryu and Tobizaru have rematch – Flying monkey TZ took forever to get up (after monoii had started) and’s covered in sweat and would prob rather take the loss. I’d’ve been shocked if he’d won. #Nagoyabasho2019 pic.twitter.com/Fc08vbOev7

Random Land
IT is possibly my favorite Stephen King novel, and I’m pretty excited for the chapter two of the reboot. The first movie wasn’t perfect, but it was definitely enjoyable and far less campy than the TV series.

I realized a few days ago that the account I use to aggregate content was not following Derrick Lewis, and I would like to sincerely apologize.
Midnight Music: My most controversial opinion yet: The Beatles are pretty good. I tend to have month long periods where I listen to little but the Fab Four, and we’re smack dab in the middle of such a time. Tonight’s spins specifically were Please Please Me and With The Beatles.
Sleep well Maniacs! More martial arts madness is always on the way.
