Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight
Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Longtime UFC veteran Ross Pearson, winner of The Ultimate Fighter Season 9, won his boxing debut in Australia today. After 26 UFC fights, he retired from mixed martial arts earlier this year at the age of 34.

Boxing was always Pearson’s core skillset, and evidently he is putting that to good use at the start of a new career in the pugilistic arts. Via BloodyElbow.com:
I was a stand-up fighter in the UFC and I know that means I can handle it in boxing,” Pearson told foxsports.com.au prior to the bout. “After fighting in the UFC for many years, I fear no man — this won’t be a one off appearance like Conor McGregor. I aim to conquer the sport by destroying anybody that steps into the ring with me.

I must admit I’ve mostly ignored the Pitbull brothers up until this point, but Patricio Friere deserves respect.
MMA media/fans: X fighter is legit. He’d be a top 5/UFC champion for sure.
*After I dominate all of them*
MMA media/fans: Pitbull needs to face some more legit competition.
Also MMA media: Guy with as many wins as losses was a top 5 Featherweight.
Two words: Fuck you!

I’m very curious how Sage Northcutt handles the Muay Thai stylings of Cosmo Alexandre.
