Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Neil Magny’s recent main event opportunity did no go as hoped for the veteran Welterweight contender. Despite his best efforts, Magny was unable to deny the grappling attack of Michael Chiesa, coughing up a decision loss just a couple weeks ago at UFC Fight Island 8.

Khamzat Chimaev was less than sympathetic. At one point, Chimaev and Magny were potential opponents. Though UFC went in a different direction, it appears that line in the sand was drawn nevertheless.

Today, Magny responded to the tweet, firing back at the up-and-coming talent. “You finally found a pair of balls, huh,” Magny tweeted. “I don’t hand pick opponents like you do, I’ve fought the best guys in the UFC for the 8 years. Something you know nothing about.

“Make sure you keep that same energy when you see me in person! I’ll give you my word, that I’m slaaping (sic) you on sight and teaching some respect!”

Currently, Khamzat Chimaev is recovering from COVID-19 and will face Leon Edwards in a “Fight Night” main event on March 13. If he wins, it seems unlikely he’ll take a step back to face Magny, but a loss could set up a potential grudge match between the two.
